New Attractions 2010

At The Top:

The history of Dubai and the Burj Khalifa is laid out for you as you travel to the At the Top viewing deck on level 124, which opened in January. Once there, take in the sweeping views.

Skydive Dubai:

Who wants to jump out of an aircraft from 13,000ft? Clearly, everyone – if you consider how busy Skydive Dubai has been since it launched in February. Even if you’re not keen, do it for the Palm Jumeirah views.

Armani Hotel:

Marketed as the most ‘exclusive destination in the city’, old silver fox Giorgio has really outdone himself with this, the only hotel in the Burj Khalifa, with an elegant and understated design. Open since April.

Playnation - Mirdif City Centre:

Playnation, open since April in Mirdif City Centre, offers the most fun you can have in a mall: bowling, soccer and indoor skydiving that’ll make your face feel like it’s made of rubber – always an aspiration.
(800 534 7873).

Dubai Water Taxi:

Operating since July and covering 18 locations on Dubai Creek, from the old souk in Deira right down to Atlantis on The Palm, you can book a water taxi for both quick stops and tourist trips.
(800 9090).

Dubai Sports Complex:

Open since October, not only does the complex’s stadium have an Olympic 50-metre swimming pool, but it also boasts another pool with a moveable floor. We’re not sure why we’d need it, but we like the idea.
Dubai Municipality (800 900).

Iceland Waterpark:

This 125-acre park opened with a splash in October in Ras Al Khaimah. There are rain-dance pools, more penguins than you can shake your board shorts at, and the world’s largest
man-made waterfall. And why not?

Ferrari World:

The theme park in Abu Dhabi has been enjoying global fame since its launch in November, thanks to the white-knuckle Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest rollercoaster, which reaches speeds of 275kph.
